Mendes’ “Beatles” Films Find Their Stars?

Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes’ ambitious four-film saga depicting The Beatles appears to have landed its core cast according to a new report.

The InSneider indicates that Harris Dickinson is John Lennon, Paul Mescal is Paul McCartney, Charlie Rowe is George Harrison and Barry Keoghan is Ringo Starr.

As previously reported, the plan is to make four separate but interconnected and intersecting theatrical films – one told from the perspective of each of the members of The Beatles.

The films will culminate with their 1970 breakup and Mendes will direct all four films. McCartney, Starr, and the families of the late John Lennon and George Harrison have all reportedly granted full life story and music rights for the scripted films – the first time the Beatles have granted their full support for a scripted film.

Sony Pictures Entertainment will both finance and distribute all four films with plans to release all four theatrically in 2027 with an “innovative and groundbreaking” strategy.

Mendes, Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor will produce.
