Marvel's Next AVENGERS Movie Will Reportedly Feature More Than 60 MCU Characters

Yesterday it was reported that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is in talks to direct the next Avengers movie for Marvel Studios.I wanted to highlight a bit of intriguing information that was included in that report and talk a little bit about it. It involves the number of MCU characters that will be included in the story. The report says: “Marvel has been working hard in recent months to pull this together so shooting can begin next year on one of Marvel’s largest productions to date.”They go on to reveal that more that “60 MCU characters could reprise their roles, including everyone from Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Benedict Cumberbatch to Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu and Karen Gillian.”It’s explained that “many of the characters in this film would have equal footing, making it more of an ensemble feature instead of a handful of characters leading the team.”Over 60 MCU characters, many of which would have equal footing!? That’s a wild challenge to take on. That seems like it’ll be incredibly hard to effectively pull off. It’s a lot of characters to juggle! 60 characters reprising their roles also means that almost every main and co-character we’ve seen in the MCU could end up appearing in the film. While we don’t have any story details to share, there have been a lot of rumors making the rounds online. One of the most recent rumors involves five key characters that will be included in the story. Those characters are rumored to be Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight, Mark Ruffalo’s The Hulk, and Tatiana Maslan’s She-Hulk. While these character may very well show up in the movie, we don’t know if they will actually be the core characters of the story. One thing we know for sure is that Kang is most likely no longer going to be the big bad villain that Marvel was hoping to set up unless they decide to recast the character to play one of his variants. The creator of Marvel’s Loki series, Michael Waldron, was hired to write this new film, the script of which was handed over to Levy to see if it’s something that he’d want to take on.What are your thoughts on the possibility of seeing 60 MCU characters come together for the next Avengers movie!? Are there any specific characters that you’d like to see lead the movie?Source: Deadline
