J-Lo’s “Atlas” Is A Big Hit For Netflix

Jennifer Lopez’s new Netflix sci-fi film “Atlas” has clocked around 60 million global views (119.4M hours viewed) to date on the service.

The title has held the No. 1 spot on the streamer’s top 10 film chart for a second week in a row. In addition, Deadlinereports that the viewer completion rate for the film is very strong at 80% on Netflix – on par with Lopez’s last film “The Mother” which became Netflix’s most-watched movie of 2023.

The numbers give Lopez her fourth No. 1 streaming premiere movie over the past two years following “The Mother,” “Shotgun Wedding,” and “This Is Me Now: A Love Story”.

Lopez’s producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas seized the opportunity to promote her partner:

“It’s time to report some true facts: A Woman of Color has done what few male stars have been able to do, namely having four No. 1 films in the past two years — Atlas, The Mother, This Is Me Now and Shotgun Wedding — two of them in the top 10 of all time on the two biggest streaming platforms Netflix and Amazon Yet those truths are being ignored.”

Lopez’s big success on streaming comes in the wake of her recent concert tour which was scrapped amongst reports of soft ticket sales. Officially she is “taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends”.
