Daniel Bruhl Is Sure Zemo Will Return To The MCU

In a recent interview actor Daniel Bruhl says he is sure Zemo will return to the MCU. Bruhl played Zemo in both Captain America: Civil War and Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, there has been no sign of the character since, and we know he is not in Brave New World.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Bruhl says he’s confident we will see Zemo pop up again in the MCU.

“It’s fine for me, I can wait. [Laughs] I’m a very patient man. No, I’m not, but it’s funny, because in the meantime, I just wrapped on a show that’s called The Franchise, where it’s actually a satire about the superhero universe, so it was fun to switch sides, so to say. But knowing Marvel, they have a lot of sense of humor, so they will probably find it as funny as I did. And who knows, I mean, I’m still not dead, I’m very confident that I’ll be back.”

I certainly hope so as Bruhl’s Zemo has been one of my favorite antagonists in the MCU thus far. Plus, we need to see more Zemo dancing.

Many fans were surprised when Bruhl was not included in the cast for Thunderbolts* which seems on paper like the perfect place for him. So who knows where and when we will see Zemo again?

It could be that we don’t see him until post-Secret Wars at this point. None of the currently announced movies seems to have room for Zemo. Also, I think he’s too good to just have a minor part. The next time we do see Zemo, I would prefer him to be a primary antagonist. Clearly Zemo’s views on superheroes have not changed, that much is clear. So perhaps he will pop up to throw a spanner in the works for the new Avengers team? I guess given how little we know about Avengers 5, it’s possible he could show up there. I mean, Zemo did manage something that no other villain has done, he kinda beat the Avengers and split the team in half.

Who knows? I do know I want to see him back though, and he’s out there doing something currently in the MCU. Once again, a free man.
